More treatment ahead

It’s always more fun (and faster) to share good news than less-good news.

Last week, Gina’s scans picked up a recurrence in the same spot that keeps disappearing with chemo and reappearing when chemo is discontinued. They warned us that a complete response to chemotherapy is unusual, but that didn’t stop us from hoping.

Instead, we’ll be heading back to New York the week after Thanksgiving for six rounds of radiation (and a visit to The New School for Nathan while we’re in the neighborhood).

It’s crazy to think that 20 minutes of radiation (over the course of a week) might finally knock out this pesky last tumor, but we’re hopeful that we’ll be “healthy and done in 2021” …just under the wire.

Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers, and stars!

P.S. Add to the list of increased proof of badass-ness, 5 tattoos that now adorn Gina’s chest and abdomen, to guide her radiation. Thinking those marks might need to be modified into stars after treatment. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
